NYC Plum Rum Lipstick & Rimmel ScandelEyes

NYC Plum Rum Liptick

Rimmal Scandaleyes Bad Girl Bronze

Today I did this make-up look to go out to run errands. It is a very quick bronzey look. I recently purchased the Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze; so far I love it, I posted pictures/a swatch of it below. I also decided to pair this eye shadow with one of my favorite lipsticks NYC Plum Rum. It is a plum nude that does not require a lip-liner. It is a great nude for dark skin beauties and its only $1.99! I keep backups of this lipstick because it is amazing and is super affordable.

Obviously I do not look anything like Nina Dobrev…but I love how her makeup is done on Vampire Diaries. She usually has a soft brown smokey eye, a natural looking complexion and a nude/coral lip. Her look inspired me to create this makeup look. Enjoy!

Oh no! I’m late!

I have so much going on lately with work, my internship and putting together my professional portfolio so I need as much sleep as I can get. Usually it takes me at least a solid hour just to do my hair and makeup. I don’t have that time in the morning anymore, so I have been condensing my makeup and hair routine into 15 mins. So here is what I did to achieve this look today in the morning when I was running a little late.

Eyebrows: Jordana brown eyebrow pencil & Bobbi Brown concealer (chestnut)

Lashes: Loreal Carbon Black Mascara

Under-eye/above lip: Bobbi Brown concealer (chestnut)

Face: NYC Primer mixed with Makeup Forever Face & Body Foundation #48 & MAC Blotting Power (deepdark) on top on the t-zone area

Cheeks: Covergirl Queen Collection Bronzer (Ebony Breeze)

Lips: NYC Midtown Mulberry lipgloss

Then I set my face with Elf’s setting spray.

Hair:

I braided my hair in two sections overnight and took them out in the morning. I created the volume by combing and fluffing my hair with a widetooth comb. Then I put on a black headband from Claire’s.

Skin Care and Makeup Check-list

(Me!! with a full face!)

For some reason I feel like I need more time to get ready in the morning. When I wake up for work I  try to do my makeup in less than 30 minutes and I sometimes forget to apply at least one product. Getting ready to go out on a date or going to the mall is always hard for me because I am thinking about so many things. What to wear? When will the train leave? How much money should I bring? I inevitably will skip a step on my makeup routine due to my brain being on overload.

When I skip a step or a product it doesn’t tremendously alter the look or wear of my makeup but, I have so much makeup and I watch so many make-up tutorials that I feel as though I am doing myself and my wallet an injustice if I do not complete my entire look with all the products needed.

Thus, I have created a Skin-Care & Make-up Check-list so that I will never forget a step. I hope you guys find this useful in developing your personal routine.

DIY: Eyebrow Tutorial

This is how I shape, pencil and fill in my eyebrows!

Step 1:

Start with clean eyebrows. Use your mascara comb to comb you hairs in your desired direction.

Step 2:

Fill in and slightly draw in eyebrows with a light pigmented dark brown pencil. I use CoverGirl Brow & Eye Makers Pencil, Midnight Brown.

Step 3:

Put concealer on a concealer brush and outline your eyebrows with the concealer. I use MAC Select Moisture Cover Concealer NW45.

Step 4:Blend you concealer outwards (after, you will have a nice highlight for your eye makeup!). I also fill in my eyebrows with a dark brown pencil with a medium pigment level. I use NYC Brow/Eye Liner Pencil 925A Sable. Apply to your desired darkness.

Now you are done! What a difference!
